Place every PNG to PDF page and keep the transparent pixels
PNG to PDF places each PNG on its own page and embeds the PNG, so transparency in the file stays in the PDF. Viewers often show the empty page as white behind those clear pixels. The clear pixels are still clear in the file. A JPEG cannot offer that, which is why this is a separate page from JPG to PDF.

How to turn a PNG to PDF
- Add PNG files, up to 100. Set the order with the up and down buttons. The first image becomes page one.
- Choose page size: Fit to image, A4, Letter, or Legal. Set orientation to Auto, Portrait, or Landscape.
- Choose a margin: None, Small (18 points), or Medium (36 points).
- Choose Contain to fit the whole image, or Fill to cover the page and crop the overflow.
- Press Create PDF. One PNG becomes one PDF named from that file. Several PNGs become one PDF named images.pdf.
PNG to PDF options explained
Transparency is kept because the PNG is embedded, not flattened onto a coloured rectangle first. A logo with clear areas stays a logo with clear areas. What you see as white in a viewer is usually the page showing through.
Fit to image makes the page one point per pixel, so a large screenshot becomes a large page. A4, Letter, and Legal keep a paper size. Auto orientation uses landscape when the image is wider than it is tall.
Contain leaves the whole PNG visible, with possible empty bands. Fill covers the page and can cut edges. The margin shrinks the box before that fit is calculated. None uses the full page.
What this page does not flatten
The PNG’s alpha channel is part of the embedded image. This page does not paint the logo onto white and throw the alpha away. If you needed a white backing, flatten the PNG to a JPEG first and use JPG to PDF, or leave the PNG as it is and accept the viewer’s page colour behind it.
Screenshots of text do not gain a text layer. The glyphs are pixels inside the PNG. PDF to text will not read them. If you need real text, start from a PDF that already has a text layer.
The saved PDF’s producer line is Upload Nothing (uploadnothing.com). Title and author are not copied from the PNG, because a PNG does not have those PDF fields. Set them with Edit PDF metadata if you need them.
Order and paper
You reorder with move buttons. There is no drag grid of thumbnails. Check the list before you create the PDF, because the page order is that list.
Letter, A4, and Legal are fixed point sizes. Portrait and Landscape force the orientation. Auto follows the image. A margin of Medium is 36 points, about half an inch, on each side of the box the image is fitted into.
Limits, formats and output
| Accepted input | PNG |
|---|---|
| Files per batch | 1–100 |
| Soft size warning | 200 MB or 1,000 pages |
| Hard stop | 500 MB total in memory |
| Output | PDF, or a ZIP when there is more than one file |
| Account | None. The tool runs in this tab. |
Your file never leaves your device
Your PNG is placed on a page by a script running in this tab. The work runs in a Web Worker in this tab, using WebAssembly for the heavy parts, and the result comes back as a local blob. This site does not upload the file, store it, or log its name.
To verify: load the page, turn on airplane mode, and drop the file again. It still finishes. Or open DevTools, choose Network, and watch the run: there is no upload. The architecture is described on How it works.
Frequently asked questions
Does PNG to PDF keep transparency?
Yes. The PNG is embedded with its alpha channel. A viewer may still paint white behind the page, so a clear logo can look like it sits on white paper. The file itself still has the transparent pixels. JPG to PDF cannot do this, because JPEG has no alpha.
Will the image be recompressed?
The PNG is embedded as a PNG. It is not converted to JPEG on this page. A later Compress PDF pass may skip images it cannot safely recompress, including some with masks, and it will say how many it skipped.
Why is Fit to image so large?
The page width and height follow the pixel size, one point per pixel. A full-screen screenshot can be far bigger than Letter. Choose Letter, A4, or Legal, then Contain, when the PDF should be a normal sheet.
What is the difference between Contain and Fill?
Contain scales the PNG down or up until both sides fit, so you see the entire image. Fill scales until the page is covered, so one pair of edges can be cut off. Use Fill only when a crop of the edges is acceptable.
How many PNGs can I combine?
Up to 100. They become one PDF in the list order. One file stays a single-page PDF under a name based on that PNG. The hard memory stop is 500 MB. An individual image warns around 50 MB.
Can I mix JPG and PNG here?
This page accepts PNG. Use Image to PDF when the batch mixes JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, GIF, and BMP. Use JPG to PDF when every file is a JPEG and you want those bytes embedded without a second compression.
