Extract pages from PDF into one file or one file each
Extract pages from PDF by naming the pages you want to keep. They are copied into a new PDF, or into one PDF per page. The file you added is not modified. Delete pages from PDF is the mirror tool: there you name what to drop, and you get one file back.

How to extract pages from PDF
- Add one PDF. Provide the password you already know if the file asks for one.
- Choose the pages to keep. Type a range such as 1-3, 5, 8- or mark them on the page list. You must choose at least one page.
- Set Output to One PDF or One PDF per page (ZIP). One PDF keeps the selected pages together, in the order you specified.
- Press Extract pages. Each result is a copy of those pages, not a render. Text stays selectable. The outline is not copied.
- Download the file. One PDF is a single download. One PDF per page gives you a file for each page, and Download all packs them in a ZIP.
Extract PDF pages options explained
Pages uses 1-3, 5, 8-. Blank would mean every page, which copies the whole document into a new file. That is allowed, and it is rarely what you wanted. Name the pages.
One PDF puts the selected pages in one document, in the order the range listed them. One PDF per page writes a separate one-page PDF for each selected page. The ZIP is the pack of those files when you use Download all.
The source list entry is unchanged. Extract does not delete those pages from a second copy unless you also run Delete pages. The producer line on each new PDF is Upload Nothing (uploadnothing.com).
Order and what is copied
The pages land in the order you named. A range of 5, 1, 3 is page 5, then page 1, then page 3, if you typed them that way. A span such as 1-3 is in ascending order. The tool does not sort a hand-typed list back into numerical order.
Copying keeps the content stream, the page size, and the rotation. It does not rebuild bookmarks. A form field on an extracted page comes along with that page. A field on a page you did not extract is absent.
This is the same copy-pages approach as split and delete. It is not PDF to JPG. If you wanted pictures, render the pages. If you wanted the images painted on the page and not the page itself, use Extract images from PDF.
Extract or split
Extract is the right page when you know the page numbers and you want those pages, either together or one file each. Split PDF is the right page when the cut is structural: semicolon ranges, every N pages, or every page in the document.
Selected pages inside Split PDF also makes one PDF of the pages you mark. Extract adds the explicit choice of one PDF per page. Use that ZIP output when each page has to be its own attachment.
Limits, formats and output
| Accepted input | |
|---|---|
| Files per batch | 1 |
| Soft size warning | 200 MB or 1,000 pages |
| Hard stop | 500 MB total in memory |
| Output | PDF, or a ZIP when there is more than one file |
| Account | None. The tool runs in this tab. |
Your file never leaves your device
Pages you pick are copied by a script running in this tab. The work runs in a Web Worker in this tab, using WebAssembly for the heavy parts, and the result comes back as a local blob. This site does not upload the file, store it, or log its name.
To verify: load the page, turn on airplane mode, and drop the file again. It still finishes. Or open DevTools, choose Network, and watch the run: there is no upload. The architecture is described on How it works.
Frequently asked questions
Can I get one file per page?
Yes. Set Output to One PDF per page (ZIP). Each selected page is its own PDF. Download all saves them as a ZIP. One PDF is the other setting, and it keeps every selected page in a single document.
Does extract remove pages from the original?
No. The original stays in the list, and the download is a new file or files. If you also need the long document without those pages, run Delete pages from PDF on a separate pass. This page does not do both at once.
Will the pages be in the order I typed?
Yes. A comma list is honoured in the order you wrote it. A dash span runs from the lower number to the higher number. 8- means from 8 to the last page. A range that runs backwards is rejected.
Are bookmarks included?
No. The new document has the pages and not the outline. Text on the page is unchanged. If a heading was real text, it is still text. The sidebar bookmark that pointed at it is not recreated.
What if I extract every page?
You get a copy of the document, or one PDF per page if that output is selected. It is valid and usually pointless. Name a shorter range. The tool requires at least one page and will say so if the selection is empty.
Does this work offline?
After the page has loaded and the engines are cached, yes. You can confirm by running it with the network off. The password, if you typed one, stays in memory for this job only. It is not stored as an account.
