Reorder PDF pages with the move buttons on a page list

Reorder PDF pages from a page list. You move rows with the up and down buttons. You can rotate a page, leave a page out, or insert a blank. There is no drag-and-drop thumbnail grid in this version. The save copies the pages you kept into a new PDF, in the list order.

How to reorder PDF pages

  1. Add one PDF. If it is encrypted, use the password you already know.
  2. Read the page list. Move a row up or down until the reading order is right. The top of the list becomes page one.
  3. Rotate a row if that page is sideways. The turn updates the rotation entry and does not re-render the page. Delete a row you do not want, or insert a blank page where you need a break.
  4. Keep at least one page. An empty list is refused. A blank page uses the size of the previous page in the new file.
  5. Press Save new order and download the PDF. The source stays in the list. The outline from the original is not copied.

Organize PDF options explained

Up and down are the reorder controls. Do not look for a grid of thumbnails to drag. The list is the order. Check it before you save, especially when two pages look alike from the label alone.

Rotate on a row adds a quarter-turn to that page’s rotation entry, the same model as Rotate PDF. Other rows are not turned unless you turn them. Text on a rotated page stays selectable.

Leaving a page out drops it from the new file. Insert blank adds an empty page the size of the previous page, or the first page’s size if you insert at the start. The blank page has no content stream from the original.

The same copy as split and delete

Organize PDF uses the same copy-pages engine as split, delete, and extract. Each kept page is copied, then given the rotation you set on that row, then appended. The page is not drawn into an image. A scan stays a scan. A text layer stays a text layer.

You can combine several edits in one save: a new order, a turn on page 3, a dropped cover sheet, and a blank before the appendix. You do not have to run Rotate PDF and Delete pages as separate jobs unless you prefer to.

The producer line on the saved file is Upload Nothing (uploadnothing.com). Bookmarks are not rebuilt. Page numbers printed in the design do not update themselves when you move a page. Add page numbers to PDF if you want new numbers after the order is final.

What this version does not do

There is no drag thumbnail grid. Moving pages is the up and down buttons and the page list. If you expected to drag pictures of the pages into a new sequence, that interaction is not in this version. The list still shows which page is which.

This page organizes one PDF. It does not merge several files. Merge PDF is the page for that, including an optional blank page between documents. A blank you insert here is inside the one file you opened.

Limits, formats and output

Accepted input PDF
Files per batch 1
Soft size warning 200 MB or 1,000 pages
Hard stop 500 MB total in memory
Output PDF, or a ZIP when there is more than one file
Account None. The tool runs in this tab.

Your file never leaves your device

Your page order is rebuilt by a script running in this tab. The work runs in a Web Worker in this tab, using WebAssembly for the heavy parts, and the result comes back as a local blob. This site does not upload the file, store it, or log its name.

To verify: load the page, turn on airplane mode, and drop the file again. It still finishes. Or open DevTools, choose Network, and watch the run: there is no upload. The architecture is described on How it works.

Frequently asked questions

Can I drag the thumbnails?

No. This version has no drag-and-drop thumbnail grid. Reorder with the move buttons on the page list. Rotate, delete, and insert blank are on that same list. The save follows the list from top to bottom.

What size is a blank page?

It matches the previous page in the file you are building. If the previous page is landscape, the blank is landscape. A blank inserted before any page has been placed uses the first page of the source. It is an empty page, not a copy of the content.

Does reordering blur the text?

No. Pages are copied, not rendered. Rotation changes the rotation entry only. PDF to text can still read a text layer after you save. A scan still has no text layer, and organizing it does not create one.

Can I drop every page?

No. At least one page has to remain, including a blank you inserted. The job stops if the list is empty. Delete pages from PDF has the same rule. A PDF with zero pages is not a file this tool will save.

How is this different from merge?

Merge joins two or more PDFs and can insert a blank between those files. Organize reorders, rotates, drops, and inserts blanks inside one PDF. If you have three contracts, merge them first, then organize the combined file if the page order inside it is wrong.

Will my old bookmarks follow the new order?

No. The outline is not copied. After a reorder, old bookmarks would have pointed at the wrong pages anyway. The text of a heading is still on the page it was copied with. The sidebar list is gone.
